Frequently Asked Questions

What happens to a tree when it gets removed?

The tree will be cut down in sections, mulching the branches and loading the timber in pieces in to a truck for removal.

What happens to the stump when a tree is removed?

For most jobs, the tree stump will be trimmed right down and left as a small stump footprint. However, if you request stump removal (at an additional cost), a special machine is used to grind the stump down into mulch. This machine grinds about 30cm deep, allowing the mulch it generates to fill in the hole it leaves.

Can I keep some of the wood for my fire place?

Of course! Just let us know, so we can cut the wood up in to more manageable sized pieces - that way you can dry them out for a season (or two) and split them easily.

Can I keep some of the mulch for my garden?

Definately! Clear a space in your yard and we can leave the mulch with you. It's perfect for your trees and garden beds, helping reduce weed growth and keeping moisture in.

How much will it cost to remove my tree(s)?

Prices vary depending on: the number and size of trees, ease of access, location of trees (e.g. if they over-hang a portion of the house or power lines), stump removal. As such, we will meet with you to assess your needs and provide you with a quote.

When will I need to pay for the work you perform?

Payments are to be made in full on completion of the work. Payments can be made via cash, cheque or EFT. If you can't be present on the day, please let us know so we can make alternative payment arrangements.

Will I need a permit before my tree(s) can be removed?

Some tree work does require a permit - in particular, trees which are underneath or close to power lines. If you are unsure, you can contact the council or one of our experts will advise you while they are assessing your property.

What if something goes wrong while removing a tree?

While our staff are trained professionals and safety conscious, accidents can happen. That's why we are covered with insurance up to $5 million. Should your property be damaged in any way, we will organise for it to be repaired.
